Abhishek Bachchan and Ileana D'cruz starrer The Big Bull fails to attract a good audience. The main underlying reason behind it being the success of the web series Scam 1992 which starred Actor Pratik Gandhi as the protagonist. Both the stories is based on the biggest financial scam in India carried out by Mr Harshad Mehta.
The Big Bull is a crime-drama film directed and co-written by Kookie Gulati and produced by Ajay Devgn, Anand Pandit, Vikrant Sharma and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Even though Abhishek Bachchan has gone through alot of ups and downs in his career, in the past few years he has proven to be a powerful actor, especially after his success in the OTT platforms. The trailer was liked by many and it also raised a curiosity amongst his fans but this new web venture that he signed into couldn’t stand out because of it being mostly similar to Scam 1992 which is arguably the most successful web series in India. The writers have tried their best to make the goings-on as dramatic and as entertaining as possible to make a better impact but they failed to make it a success because they've edited out several important events of Harshad Mehta's life and made the film quite fast-paced. Scam 1992, being a webseries, holding a larger duration, showcased the whole scam and how this boy from Gujarat rose from rags to riches with the best possible direction from Hansal Mehta and a very powerful and impactful acting from Pratik Gandhi.
Another possibility of The Big Bull not making a success is because to an extent it has hurt the sentiments of the Gujaratis. Several Gujaratis have stormed the internet addressing their grievances for The Big Bull being made when already Scam 1992 exists which has been directed and acted by Gujaratis and is even based on the true story of a Gujarati, Harshad Mehta.
Nevertheless, fans are still looking forward to Abhishek Bachchan's upcoming movies Bob Biswas and Dasvi, that he is working on. He has reigned the OTT platforms in the last two-three years and his fans are eager to again see him in his form with the best craft that he delivers.
